Any Dream Will Do...

As handsome young man, and his father's favorite child, Joseph is known for interpreting dreams and his gorgeous coat. He is envied by many, but most of all, his eleven brothers. Their envy boils over and they sell Joseph into slavery, thus starting his incredible journey... from slavery to jail to fame all over again, and the simple quest of forgiveness and reuniting his family.

The Real Group is a world known and recognized Vocal Jazz Ensemble from Sweden.

Our choir took part in a field trip to attend a workshop hosted at Mansfield University on Tuesday, Feb. 24th 2009.

Our day was quite eventful, it all started with the sit-in on the masterclass where we were all introduced to the members of the group and were able to watch as they worked with the Mansfieldians...

Our Winter Choral Concert was held on Friday, December 12 at 7:00pm in the EHS auditorium.

This year's winter concert introduced our newest ensemble, the 35-member Show Choir, who danced and sang some holiday favorites to start off the concert, including "Dig That Crazy Santa Claus," "Baby, It's Cold Outside," and "Christmas, Baby Please Come Home."

Next, the 12-member Vocal Jazz Ensemble performed a charming rendition of "Jingle Bells," a new jazz piece entitled "Love Psalm," and a classic made famous by the Carpenters, "Merry Christmas, Darling."

All 80 members of the Concert Choir presented six selections from different eras and cultures, including "He, Watching Over Israel," "What Sweeter Music," "Carol of the Bells," "White Christmas," "Vamuvamba," and "True Light." We closed our concert with a Holiday Sing-Along and our traditional closing piece, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You."

Thank you to everyone who helped out to make our concert a huge success, including the students who volunteered for stage crew, lighting, sound, and recording, the chorus parents who helped the boosters with concession sales, the boosters, and the students for working so hard! Great job everyone!

For their Spring Concert, 2008

The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a highly select group of singers who must be a member of the Concert Choir as well. The VJE meets after school for only 2 hours a week, and must have a strong committment to the group. They perform at the three major concerts during the school year, but also have various extracurricular performances as well.

In April 2008, the VJE traveled to Virginia Beach and competed in Festivals of Music, earning a first place trophy. They also competed in Music in the Parks at Six Flags Great Adventure in May and finished second.

The 2007-2008 school year was an exciting and busy one! It was the last year for the ninth grade chorus, as the ninth grade will move to a different school building in fall 2008. It was also the first year for the Spotlight Awards, which were held May 30 at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg.

The Spotlight Awards were designed to recognize local high school musical theater programs. PME proudly received 17 nominations in 20 categories! Tisdale Frederick took home the award for Outstanding Ensemble Member for his portrayal of Action in this year's production of West Side Story.

The Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Festival Chorus traveled to Virginia Beach, VA in April to compete in Festival of Music. They also traveled in May to Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ to compete in Music in the Parks.

We presented three concerts to the public: The Winter Concert, Prism, and the Spring Concert, which featured music from around the world. Check out the links to the left for more info on those performances!

The concert choir comprises students in grades 10-12. They perform at 3 concerts throughout the school year: the Winter Concert, the Prism Concert, and the Spring Concert. They sing music in a variety of styles and levels of difficulty, and work hard to incorporate the highest levels of musicianship into their daily practice and performances.

Chorus Room Beautification Project!

This past summer, our students were invited to help decorate out bland chorus room with some murals.

Thanks to their hard work and effort, our chorus room has become just a tad bit more... home-ly.
